The ACT is a college entrance exam which consists of up to 5 academic   sections. A score is reported for each of the four sections along with a   composite score. What   is the difference between the the SAT and ACT?

The SAT is more of an aptitude   test, testing reasoning and verbal abilities. The ACT is an achievement test,   measuring what a student has learned in school.

The ACT has up to 5 components: English, Mathematics, Reading,   Science, and an optional Essay.
