Dr. David A. Wells became the Director of the Alliance Academy International in 2007; the first head of school appointed by the Alliance Academy Foundation after the transfer of the Academy's ownership from the Christian & Missionary Alliance.  Dr. Wells has been the head of three schools before coming to AAI, including a mission-owned and operated Christian school in Puerto Rico, an independent military school in Puerto Rico, and a church-related Christian school in New York.

Dr. Wells' academic preparation includes a bachelor's degree in physical education from Houghton College, a master's in Christian School Administration from Grace Theological Seminary, and a doctorate from the “Universidad Interamericana” in Educational Administration and Supervision.
