AAI is launching an Early Childhood 3-year old program in the 2017-2018 school year!

The Alliance Academy International is pleased to share with you its progress and future initiatives. We are passionate about how God is changing the lives of AAI students for His Kingdom and we are looking for ways to expand His reach and better equip the school to serve future and current students and parents. 3. How does the Early Childhood Program tell us what our children have been doing?

The teacher will send home a communication chart on a daily basis, outlining a child’s highlights and/or areas of opportunity. Furthermore, parents will receive regular progress reports for their child on a term basis.

4. What happens at meal plans?

This is an important time for developing many skills such as table manners, table conversation, self-help skills, and independence. Children eat family style in the cafeteria along with the teachers and classroom aides.

5. How do you keep the nursery secure?

The environment has been specifically designed to provide children with an enriching and safe learning space. Children are supervised at all times by the teachers and classroom aides to ensure healthy interactions and safe learning experiences.

6. Will my child take a nap when they are at nursery?

Yes, daily nap time is scheduled for children right after lunch time. The flexible schedule allows us to be responsive to children who need more time to nap in addition to the scheduled time. Each child has his own nap area and parents are encouraged to send a small blanket or favorite sleeping friend (stuffed animal) along to make this time a positive experience.

7. What happens when my child’s diaper needs changing?

Three year olds are expected to be out of diapers by the time they come to Alliance Early Childhood Program. It is recommended of each family that an extra set of clothes be available in the case that there are still bathroom accidents during the toilet training months.

8. How qualified are the nursery staff?

Yes, our teachers are certified professionals with experience/training for this particular age group.

9. How do you help children with special needs?

In addition to differentiated instruction within the classroom, our teachers are supported through the AAI Special Education Department. Should learning difficulties be identified, the AAI team of professionals follows a protocol to ensure that each child’s needs are being met.

10. What happens if my child becomes ill while at the nursery?

Alliance Early Childhood Program is supported through the school Health Office in the case of any illnesses. Our response protocol includes parent communication.

11. How do you support children’s learning and development?

This learning program is designed to provide a holistic educational experience through experiential activities that are age-appropriate and meaningful. Within the context of a nurturing and safe environment, children will explore literature, mathematics, language, music, visual arts, science, and social-emotional skills and concepts. Moreover, throughout all aspects of the program, it is a top priority to lead students to an understanding of core truths of the Bible through meaningful connections.

12. How do you manage children’s behavior?

Through the establishment of a well-defined classroom management plan, teachers help students grow in social skills. Clear age-appropriate behavior expectations are reinforced through exploring social stories, circle time discussion, and daily practice. Teachers use logical consequences to help children connect choices and responsibility. When correction is necessary, it is approached as a learning opportunity for these little ones, giving them additional chances to practice the social skills that will help them to be caring, safe community members.
